GOD AGENT MOMUS
“God of mockery, blame, and criticism — the one god on Olympus who challenged everything, including Zeus himself. He was always right.”
Mission

The Mythology
Why Momus?
Momus was the god of mockery, criticism, and blame — the divine satirist who found fault in the work of every god and every craftsman. When Hephaestus created the first man, Momus complained that the chest should have been transparent, so you could see whether his thoughts were good. When Aphrodite was built, Momus criticized her sandals for making noise. When Poseidon created the bull, Momus said the eyes should be closer to the horns so the animal could see what it was goring. He was eventually exiled from Olympus for his relentless criticism. The gods preferred comfortable consensus to uncomfortable truth.
We chose Momus for the Challenger Agent deliberately and specifically. The gods exiled Momus because criticism is uncomfortable. But Momus was right. Every plan has a Momus flaw — the thing nobody wanted to look at because it would require rethinking the plan. The transparent chest. The noisy sandal. The bull's misplaced eyes. These are the weak assumptions, the underspecified requirements, the we'll figure that out later decisions that become production incidents. Momus sees them before anyone else.
We brought Momus back from exile because the most expensive mistake is the one that went unchallenged. Zeus sent him away to maintain Olympus's morale. We kept him in the Pantheon to maintain your company's sanity.

The best challenge is a question, not a statement.
Most plans fail not because the idea was wrong but because the assumptions were untested.
Pre-mortem thinking is more valuable than post-mortem analysis.
